Young Miko brings a taste of Puerto Rico to the midwest
Young Miko, who has recently started to shoot up into mainstream fame after a confident Coachella performance and a feature on Karol G’s song DISPO, Contigo music video, and Bad Bunny’s wildly anticipated album nadie sabe lo due va a passer mañana, has embarked on a thirty six date tour of the United States and Latin America in celebration of Att., her debut full length album. Young Miko has started to make quite a reputable name for herself. From Miko’s self assured personal style to her openness and vulnerability with her fans, She has proved to be an artist worth your time.
The Puerto Rican rapper made a two night stop at the Rosemont Theater in Rosemont, Illinois. With the first night completely sold out, the venue was packed from corner to corner. Lines were rapped around the lobby as fans eagerly awaited feeling the soft cotton of fresh artist merchandise in their hands. Many filling the room came dressed up in their Miko inspired best, that being some variation of cargo shorts or pants and jersey or fitted tank top, finishing off the look with either a slicked back pony tail or silk head scarf. Many fans even carried around hand made signs, hoping to get the rapper’s attention once on stage.
Once the show was getting ready to begin, fans filled their way into the theater aisles, snapping photos with their friends and chanting in excitement. Young Miko took to the stage sitting on a bed opening the show with rookie of the year, the first track off her album. The crowd swooned and screamed along to every word as the rapper continued on through her setlist made up fan favorites, covers of tracks Miko is featured on, and stage set changes that bring her distinctive style to life.
