Die Spitz Returns to NYC
new york city, new york - november 18, 2025
Playing a sold-out show in New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, Die Spitz returned to New York on November 18th while touring their debut album Something to Consume. They are a unique blend of genres, incorporating aspects of punk, metal, and alternative music in their newest work. From childhood friends to bandmates, the Texas quartet boasts an intense and unforgettable sound, along with a stage presence that will leave you begging for more.
The show opened with Babehaven, a queer punk band from North Carolina. The band has a metal influence and an intoxicating way of occupying the stage. They set the tone of the night well, with a high-energy performance and commanding vocals; they are a great appetizer for what is to come next.
Die Spitz is a force to be reckoned with. The band is up close and personal with their rowdy crowds. Intense eye contact and getting off the stage to join the audience are part of their performance, making the crowd feel a part of the music and the experience. Die Spitz has a refreshing way of performing. Playful and exciting to watch, their connection to their audience is different from most; there is a level of trust within the spaces they create with their music. Following the footsteps of other woman-fronted punk bands such as Bikini Kill, their encore came with a special command, “Girls to the front”. Banishing the men from the crowd to the back, the band demanded the audience members who identified with womanhood come forward instead.
Ending the show with an immense sense of community, and advocating for respect and awareness, Die Spitz creates important and needed spaces for non-men in alternative music. As their tour comes to an end on November 23rd, keep an eye out for additional dates in the future.
