LØLØ Sells Out Hometown Headliner
march 14, 2025 - toronto, canada
At the end of her first headlining tour, LØLØ drew a buzzing sold out crowd to her hometown show at Toronto’s Velvet Underground. With the yellow brick road across the stage, robots sitting next to the guitars, and band members all wearing different merch shirts with her face on them, LØLØ completely pulls the audience into the world of her debut full length LP, falling for robots and wishing i was one.
The energy is electric even before LØLØ hits the stage, as the lights dim to Jon Bellion’s All Time Low, the crowd chanting “[I’m at an all time low low…] LØLØ LØLØ LØLØ LØLØ” along with the chorus of the song. From the moment LØLØ steps on stage for the first song, “omg”, the room is dancing and singing along to every word, as the sold out crowd moves closer and closer to the stage.
LØLØ looks completely at home on stage and the show feels more like a party with close friends than an artist standing back from the audience as LØLØ’s casual confidence and charisma drive the energy in the room. The excitement surges with songs like “debbie downer” as the crowd chants along to the Bring It On inspired chorus before LØLØ pulls a fan on stage for the second half of the song to help lead the cheer as pom poms are thrown out into the audience.
Taking time in between songs to tell little stories to the audience and set up the next track on the setlist, LØLØ explains the background of the song that went on to inspire the theme of the album and now the stage set up, “u & the tin man”, which all came from when she “fell in love with someone who didn’t even have a heart”. Slower songs are met with the same excitement as the rest of the setlist, with the audience singing and swaying along to tracks like “gloria”.
At the end of her first headlining tour, LØLØ is becoming a staple in the modern day pop punk scene. Expertly balancing the melancholy of the themes throughout her discography with the upbeat, pop-y tracks, her music is as relatable as it is fun to sing along to.
