Honey Revenge’s Loving and Losing Tour takes over Toronto

“We finally got a Honey Revenge headliner!” lead singer Devin Papadol preaches to the packed crowd at Toronto’s The Opera House late into night. Wrapped around the block before the doors opened, the excitement and anticipation was palpable through the venue as the crowd eagerly waited for Honey Revenge to hit the stage.
Kicking off with two incredible openers, Nightlife and Daisy Grenade, the energy in The Opera House was electric from the very beginning of the show. Out on The Loving and Losing Tour, Honey Revenge has created a family for themselves within their fans, as everyone comes together to celebrate and dance late into the night to Honey Revenge’s upbeat and radiant setlist, even as a number of the songs address heavier, introspective themes.
Made up of Devin Papadol on vocals and Donovan Lloyd on guitar, Honey Revenge is the perfect duo on stage supported by their backing band, feeding off of each other and continuously driving the upbeat atmosphere of the show. Fresh off the release of their latest single “Risk”, the band takes the opportunity to tease some more upcoming new music. “We’re going to play some songs you know… and we’re going to play some songs you’ve never heard before”, Donovan teases to the audience, only to be met with a deafening cheer from the crowd.
Honey Revenge plays a huge setlist, balanced between new and older tracks that satisfy every fan. Deeper cuts like “Fight or Flight” are met with just as much excitement from the crowd as some of their most popular songs, the audience happily proving their dedication to the band. The opening chords of “Rerun” are met with an overwhelming wave of cheers throughout the crowd before they scream every lyric back at the band.
Honey Revenge is pure fun on stage, dancing along with the audience and taking the time to tell stories throughout the set. Midway through the set, the band stops to happily threaten the crowd with pausing the show, declaring that the audience needs to form a conga line before they’ll start the next song, “Favorite Song”. Dutifully falling into line, a conga line quickly forms in the crowd and the set continues with the audience dancing along.
Catch Honey Revenge on The Loving and Losing Tour across North America until the middle of July and stay tuned to see what they do next.
