Night One of We Came As Romans Back Luck Tour
july 22, 2025 - toronto, canada
Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall was packed wall to wall on the first night of We Came As Romans’ Bad Luck Tour late Tuesday night. With a hard hitting, heavy lineup comprised of We Came as Romans, Currents, After The Burial, and Johnny Booth, the Bad Luck tour is a must see show for any metalcore fan.
Kicking off their headlining set with one of the leading singles, “bad luck”, off of their upcoming album ALL IS BEAUTIFUL… BECAUSE WE’RE DOOMED, We Came As Romans wastes absolutely no time setting the tone for the rest of the show. It takes little time for a mosh pit to form and crowd surfers start moving towards the stage as the band drives the already high energy in the building through the roof.
Made up of Joshua Moore on guitar, Dave Stephens on lead vocals, Lou Cotton on guitar, Andy Glass on bass, and David Puckett on drums, We Came As Romans look completely at home on stage, in sync as they feed off of each other and the audience through the set. Dedicating “Carry The Weight” to Kyle Pavone, their former bandmate who unfortunately passed away in 2018, it’s clear that the band has endured more than most can imagine, and come out stronger on the other side.
Through the set, the band balances the tracklist between new and old songs, teasing songs off of their upcoming album alongside some deep cuts to satisfy every fan. Despite “culture wound” and “no rest for the dreamer” being new releases, it's clear they have become easy fan favourites, as the audience screams the words back at the band as they jump along to the tracks. Older songs like “Cold Like War” and “Wasted Age” are met with resounding cheers from the audience and the crowd pushes closer to the stage as they are drawn further into the music.
Despite their heavy sound, much of We Came As Romans discography has overarching themes of hope, purpose, and brotherhood; which are reflected by the camaraderie of the band and the audience. Aptly named, “Hope”, has the entire crowd headbanging along from the opening chords of the track.
Catch We Came As Romans as they set off on the Bad Luck Tour in North America until the end of August before they head to the UK and Europe in the fall. Stream ALL IS BEAUTIFUL… BECAUSE WE’RE DOOMED on August 22 on all streaming platforms.
