Highly Suspect Showers Toronto in Roses
Toronto, Ontario - May 23, 2026
In the midst of an all day torrential downpour, fans of Highly Suspect packed into Toronto’s History, shaking off the rain as they walked into the venue buzzing with warmth and excited energy. The night kicked off with Dead Poet Society, who had the crowd jumping and singing along throughout their set, the room filling as the crowd pushed closer and closer to the stage.
With the stage lights dark before they rose to meet the members of Highly Suspect as they walked out, the crowd erupted into a chorus of cheers, a buzz of electricity jumping through the room. The band took a moment to bask in the excitement of the audience, grinning out towards the packed room before settling into their positions and ripping into the opening track.
From the first moments of the set, the crowd was mesmerized by the band, happily ready to indulge every whim of lead singer Johnny Stevens, who quickly shared that he has a rose for every crowd surfer that floated towards the stage, sparking an unrelenting wave of surfers falling towards the front of the room.
Officially deemed The Tour Of Yellow Roses, the setlist spanned their discography, offering something for every fan. The first in a string of recently released singles, “Yellow Roses XL” was met with a surge of crowd surfers as the audience pushed right up to the stage. The crowd united for “Lydia”, screaming “I’ve seen better days / so unafraid in my youth” back at the band before two fans were invited up on stage to help finish out the final chorus of the song.
The energy throughout the show was incomparable, the crowd jumping, dancing, and screaming along to every track. In the middle of the set, Stevens paused to take a moment and thank the audience for coming, sharing the importance of welcoming everyone into these communities that have no tolerance for hate in a world that has become so divided, which was met with a gratuitous cheer of agreement from the crowd.
