Kurt Vile is Good to Toronto
Toronto, Ontario - June 16, 2026
American low-fi rock powerhouse Kurt Vile and The Violators kicked off their KV’s Been Good To Me Tour late Tuesday night in Toronto, supporting the release of Kurt Vile’s latest album, Philadelphia’s been good to me. Toronto’s History played the perfect venue as fans packed in, easy going chatter audible through the space as friends greeted each other and easy going smiles filled the room.
Longtime Toronto locals The Sadies kicked off the night, hailed by the crowd of fans as they walked on stage, warming the audience with their smooth, classic rock sound. When the lights lowered for Kurt Vile and the Violators, the words “VIDEO NITE BEER BUST / SUP MAYN / KV’S BEEN GOOD TO ME” glowed out over the audience, the old signboard backing the middle of the stage acting as the main light source as a hush fell over the crowd.
Stars and lights began to glimmer around the sign as the band walked out on stage, settling an air of magic over the room as each member stepped up to their place. As Vile stepped up to the mic dawning his signature flannel, an appreciative series of cheers swept through the audience, the crowd visibly leaning in, ready to absorb everything the band had to offer.
With a setlist dominated by songs off of Philadelphia’s been good to me, Kurt Vile and The Violators feel a bit like coming home to a place you didn’t know you missed. Their laid back classic rock feels outside of time, somehow sounding equally modern and like it fell out of an oldies radio station, the kind of music you groove along to before you even realize you’re moving.
Through the set, Vile is impossible to look away from as he stepped up to, and away from the mic, sauntering across the stage in a mesmerizing fashion as the band fluttered from song to song. Each track was met with an appreciative chorus of cheering, a content, easy going atmosphere settled over the audience as they took in every moment.
The light, laid back sound of Kurt Vile and The Violators offers a one of a kind show, music that fills a forgotten place deep in your bones you didn’t know you were missing. Catch them now, just getting started on the KV’s Been Good To Me Tour, continuing through to the end of November.
