The Veronicas ‘Gothic Summer’ U.S. tour with Jesse Jo Stark stops at The House Of Blues Chicago

Chicago, ILlinois - April 14th, 2024

After almost a decade, The Veronicas return to North America – joined with special guest Jesse Jo Stark.

Jesse Jo Stark is a rockstar and multifaceted-artist. From singing and song-writing to fashion design, it’s no wonder she’s the Goddaughter of Cher. Jesse played one of her most-famous singles, “Fire Of Love”. She also performed “Skeleton”, which was released only 3 days before the show. A mix of fierce vocals and charismatic dance moves made for an erotic show – magically setting the stage for The Veronicas.

The Veronicas, an Australian twin-duo, have been releasing tracks for nearly 20 years. It’s no wonder their song “4ever”, from one of their earliest albums The Secret Of…, is still as relevant today as it was circa 2005.

Serving as a blessing to the pop-punk music scene, their new album Gothic Summer is a testimony to their musical diversity. Every song they played had a different aura — from angst to confidence, making for quite the thrilling show. The twins pushed the boundaries with a setlist featuring “Here to Dance”, a disco-pop bop, and “Jungle”, which has a groovy surf-rock sound. It’s impressive how The Veronicas can seamlessly alternate between different genres, and do it so well.

Fans were dressed in glitter and fishnets, it felt like one big party, with a theme in celebration – a celebration of unforgettable and accomplished musicians.

The twins explain that they make music for everyone to express themselves. A lot of fans have grown up alongside The Veronicas, connecting their own emotions to their ballads. During the performance, one of the sisters called out to an anonymous audience member. She recognized the familiar face, one that attended shows along the years. It’s safe to say Chicago left two Capricorns feeling pretty emotional.
