Nick Wagen produces “We Could Be Complete” from his bedroom; releasing EP this summer
Chicago’s up & coming indie pop artist Nick Wagen takes a “right person, wrong time” approach on his latest release, “We Could Be Complete”.
The song explores themes of a longing love where you so desperately want a relationship to work, but the timing never seems to be right. With the chorus “You're the only girl I ever wanna see, no one competes / So baby just please stay here with me, and we could be complete,” Wagen wears his heart on his sleeve.
He goes further saying, “I don’t want to be anywhere but here / can’t tell if I’ve been thinking clear,” Wagen explores a relatable concept of not knowing where a relationship stands and the back and forth of making the right decision.
In terms of production, Wagen has outdone himself. The entire track was recorded, mixed and produced from his bedroom, proving once again that natural talent can be made and found anywhere.
The track features hard hitting drums and a fast paced guitar under the lyrics that come together to make a simultaneously dynamic and euphoric sound.
Greatly composed tracks aren’t a foreign concept to Wagen, his greatest hit “Confusion” with over four million Spotify streams. And with his over 100 million monthly listeners, his dedicated fans have hit an underrated gold mine that is his discography.
Wagen’s sound fits wonderfully into the newest generation of indie artists, pairing well with rising artists such as WOAH, Beach Vacation, and RNIE.
“We Could Be Complete” is out now and is the first single off of his EP coming this summer.
