Charli XCX Teases Featured Artists for Upcoming Remix Album

It all began with the “brat generator,” — a website where fans could capture any catchphrase in the style of the “brat,” album cover with its iconic neon green background and blurry Arial text.

Then came the “brat wall” — a New York City wall painted first, with a replica of the album's cover, and then, changed to reflect the album’s deluxe version that came soon after. These paintjobs were, of course, documented through livestreams on the singer’s TikTok.

Now, Charli XCX is responsible for mysterious “brat” inspired billboards popping up around the world, solidifying a legendary advertising campaign – the likes of which the music industry has never seen.

The bratty-billboards displayed names of other music artists in reversed text, to match the cover of her forthcoming remix album. The first was spotted on Sept. 30, teasing a collaboration with Wisconsin-based indie act, Bon Iver. Charli XCX has since taken to social media to confirm that each of the 16 billboards represented an artist that will be featured on “brat and it's completely different but also still brat,” which is set for release later this month.

The features teased on the billboards included:

Addison Rae

A.G. Cook

Ariana Grande

Bb Trickz

Billie Eilish

Bladee

Bon Iver

Caroline Polachek

Jon Hopkins

Julian Casablancas

Lorde

Robyn

Shygirl

The Japanese House

The 1975

Tinashe

Troye Sivan

Yung Lean

On Oct. 4  Charli acknowledged the billboards for the first time, confirming that her team was indeed responsible for the displays, and telling fans that she “kept it vague so you could guess.”
In addition to the impressive list of collaborators, fans can be excited that given her stellar track record of  diverting expectations in the pop industry, the album itself will likely reflect the unique and intriguing promotional campaign that has preceded it.

“brat and it’s completely different but also still brat” is out Oct. 11. Pre order it here
