Maya Hawke announces ‘Chaos Angel World Tour’ and ‘Clipped Wings’ EP
Singer, songwriter and actress Maya Hawke announced dates for the Chaos Angel World Tour via Instagram Monday, five days after announcing the release of the Clipped Wings EP.
The tour will stop in 33 cities in North America and Europe, starting in Seattle on March 10 and ending in Dublin, Ireland on July 23. Hawke acknowledged in the Instagram post that it’s not “totally fair to call this a world tour being that it’s just Europe and North America,” but that it’s the largest tour she has ever embarked on.
While the opener for the European leg has not been announced, Texas native Katy Kirby will join Hawke at the North American shows.
Presale starts Friday Oct. 4 for all shows except the Asheville, North Carolina date, presale for which will start Tuesday Oct. 8 due to Hurricane Helene.
Hawke also announced an EP of songs that did not make her latest album, Chaos Angel, last week. Titled Clipped Wings, the EP has four tracks and will drop Oct. 4. Track one, “Kamikaze Comic,” dropped today and features Hawke’s pitched-up voice backed by lively and folksy accompaniment and production.
Both the tour and EP announcements come after Hawke posted two cryptic videos on her Instagram. Featuring acrylic paintings and close-ups of her face, the videos led fans to speculate the release of a deluxe version of Chaos Angel and/or a tour announcement.
Hawke released Chaos Angel, her third studio album, in May, in the midst of filming “Stranger Things 5,” where she plays Robin. It’s likely that she waited to announce tour and Clipped Wings until she neared the end of filming.
