Lucy Dacus declares that “Forever Is A Feeling” with upcoming album and tour

Lucy Dacus is a generational talent, leaving listeners hanging onto every single word she breathes life into through her astounding discography of music. It’s been nearly 4 years since Dacus had a new music release, as her last studio album, Home Video, came out back in 2021. While Dacus shined in her performance on the record, the debut album from supergroup boygenius, fans have anxiously been waiting for a new solo project from the singer-songwriter during the last few years. January 15th, 2025 will undeniably be a legendary day for Lucy Dacus fans, as the musician returned with a plethora of new exciting announcements for listeners to relish within.

Forever is a Feeling, the fourth studio album from Lucy Dacus, will be released this year on March 28th. While the tracklist remains mostly unknown, the Spotify listing for the album’s release confirms that the project will contain 13 total tracks. It remains uncertain whether these credits relate to songwriting, production, or performance features, but Forever Is A Feeling is also confirmed to showcase contributions from Dacus’ close friends and bandmates from boygenius, Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker, in addition to Hozier, Bartees Strange, among others.

Two singles were released alongside the announcement of the album, “Ankles” and “Limerence.” The ethereal “Ankles” explores the uncertainty of intimacy and vulnerability alongside regal singer-songwriter production adorned with blooming strings. “Limerence” explores the captivation of romantic feelings contorting friendship into something entirely separate. In the song, Dacus begs to question, “Is there a difference between lying to you / If it feels just as bad as telling the truth?” “Limerence” is a track filled with beautiful, authentic, and raw emotion from Dacus. As the track is entirely self-written, self-performed, and self-produced, listeners are immersed in all the same feelings that Dacus imbues through every single aspect of “Limerence.” “Ankles” and “Limerence” successfully convey a complex understanding of the feeling of forever that will continue to unravel until the release of the album in March.

In addition to new recorded music, Lucy Dacus also announced her Forever is a Feeling tour. Lucy Dacus remarks on Instagram how “I’m going on tour with my dear friends… first shows in over 2 years” while reflecting on the new tour and the featured openers, Katie Gavin and jasmine.4.t. Starting in mid-April, Lucy Dacus will hit 13 US Cities by May 14th, including Philadelphia, Nashville, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more. Presale for the Forever is a Feeling tour begins on Tuesday, January 21st, while regular sale will take place on Friday, January 24th. You can check out all of the available dates here

While it might feel like forever until Lucy Dacus’ next project is here, there’s only a little over two months to wait until Forever Is A Feeling releases on streaming platforms. In the meantime, there’s no denying that “Ankles” and “Limerence” will be on repeat while waiting to purchase tickets for the tour upcoming this April.
