Mother Mother @ Crystal Ballroom

On November 8th, Mother Mother visited Portland’s Crystal Ballroom for their highly anticipated and sold out show with Vundabar and Transviolet. Fans were lined up around the corner for hours before doors opened, and it was a mix of fans from all walks of life. From longtime fans who have seen them before to newly discovered fans from their TikTok fame, Mother Mother expressed many times during the show how grateful they were to be back in what felt like a resurrection, especially for their old classics like “Hayloft.” The band ended the night with the hit, and its accompanying sequel “Hayloft II,” which had the crowd going wild and screaming back every word.

The show was split into two parts. Their newer music like “Back to School” and “It’s Alright” started the show off. The second half of the show was their classics like “Burning Pile” and “Verbatim.” That night Mother Mother created a safe place for all of their fans to scream along to the songs that resonated with them so much. The band was electric on stage and with the help of the opening bands Vundabar and Transviolet, put on one of the best shows of the year.
