Cavetown brings Bittersweet Daze to Chicago with support from friends!
Chicago, Illinois- July 29th, 2023
This past Saturday in Chicago, Cavetown brought their Bittersweet Daze tour to the Salt Shed’s outdoor venue space. The place was soaring with smiling faces and excited concert goers as people went around checking out all Cavetown and the Salt Shed had to offer. Between the tour and the venue there was plenty to experience. Walking into the space fans were greeted with a large selection of artists merchandise and some inflatable fruit characters presented by the tour set up as a cute photo opportunity or just a quick serotonin boost, citrus friends and Cavetown would call them. There was also a tent representing the This Is Home foundation, started by Cavetown to support LGBTQ+ youth directly by making a series of donations to different charities around the country. Courtesy of the venue, there were plenty of food trucks available and picnic tables for fans to take a rest or enjoy their snacks! Salt Shed is also home to its very own vintage shop and music store (selling an array of guitars and other musical equipment and memorabilia). It’s easy to say the grounds had a little bit for everyone.
Going further into the event space, the show was underway! grentperez opened up the day with a short and sweet set of six songs to get the crowd ready for what was to come. following that came Ricky Montgomery with a burst of stage presence. Third to him was mxmtoon who made the crowd and stage sparkle with her endless positivity and enthusiasm. And lastly the artist of the night, Cavetown took the stage calmly as the sun was fully setting for the night. This tour really is a fans dream as all of these artists have collaborated together in some capacities as well as pretty much sharing a large overlap of fan basses. The energy from the crowd could only be described as infectious. The show became a space where everyone could be themselves in the fullest capacities, drapped with enough pride flags and friendship bracelets to go around.
Tickets to the rest of the tour can be found here!
