Culture Wars Return to Toronto on Headlining World Tour

Toronto, Ontario - September 15, 2026

Culture Wars kicked off the final leg of their 2026 World Tour late Tuesday night in Toronto’s West End, drawing a full house to The Mod Club. The line spanned the block even before the doors opened, friends and strangers huddling under shared umbrellas in a flash of unexpected rain. Packing into the club, the crowd filled the dance floor and lined the balcony as opener Softly took the stage, excited whispers bouncing through the audience. 

A quiet hush fell over the room as the lights lowered for Culture Wars before a unanimous roar of cheers came from the crowd as the band stepped out onto the stage. Coming off of the release of their debut album, Don’t Speak, Culture Wars has cultivated a dedicated audience, the love for the music palpable as fans sang along to each track. 

Opening with “Bittersweet”, Culture Wars set the tone for the evening early, grooving across the stage as the room filled with their unique sound, a mix of surf and alternative rock, balanced by an underlying hint of twang. Unrelenting in the first half, the band kept the energy tight, moving through the setlist as the crowd danced along to tracks like “Wasting My Time” and “Slowly”. 

Pausing to let the audience catch their breath, the band stopped to reminisce on the last time they were in Toronto, a couple years ago opening for another band on the very same stage at The Mod Club. Laughing at how far they had come, they recounted their attempt to play a cover of the Fine Young Cannibals “She Drives Me Crazy”, which no one quite “understood” at the time, but quickly became the most requested song of the night. 

Kicking back off into their setlist, lacking any such cover, the night continued with fan favourite “(Tokyo)” before band offered a disclaimer for their slowest song of the night, “cortisol, it’s not always what’s in your head”, stating that this was the moment for kissing, for anyone who felt so inclined. As the romantic moment passed, the band ripped straight into “Don’t Speak” and the energy in the room dialed right back up to ten.
